DESERT ORTHOPEDIC CENTER The most common fear among patients is the postoperative pain. We have a rapid recovery protocol which utilizes spinal anesthesia and a separate pain relieving nerve block specific to the operative extremity which can often last the entire first day after surgery. We stress the importance of ice, elevation, compression, and short frequent walks.
