Dr. Patrick S.t Pierre discusses how to control your pain after shoulder surgery. A large component of this pain control is for you to start by taking two extra strength Tylenol tablets four times a day on the day prior to your scheduled surgery. We want you to take two pills as soon as you wake up, two at lunch, two at dinner, and two before you go to bed. This is the maximum dose of Tylenol, but we plan to only use it for about 5 to 7 days until you get through the postoperative pain. You will also receive two Tylenol tablets when you come in on the day of your surgery. Additionally, you will get a nerve block from an anesthesiologist on the day of surgery. This will provide complete analgesia to your arm for 18 to 24 hours...
