'Shock Absorber' for Knee Pain - UC Davis Among First to Place MISHA Implant for Osteoarthritis

UC Davis Health is among the first health systems in the nation to place the new MISHA implant, a new option for patients with knee pain from osteoarthritis that isn’t severe enough for knee replacement surgery. MISHA is a shock absorber made of metal and polymer. The metal parts attach to the femur and tibia, and the polymer in the middle works as a shock absorber. The implant was approved by the FDA in 2023. Surgeon
